There are two ways to get to Andenes and Andøya in by boat. One is the ferry that goes between Andenes and Gryllefjord during summer. The other way is to take Hurtigruten to Risøyhamn and then use road transport to Andenes.

FERRY ANDENES – GRYLLEFJORD

The ferry between Andenes and Gryllefjord operates from 18th May to 5th September. The ferry has good capacity, but in peak season it is advisable to show up an hour before scheduled departure. The crossing normally takes 1 hour and 40 minutes.

BUS

It is also possible to travel to Andenes by bus, for exemple from Sortland,  the Lofoten, and also from the train stations in Fauske, on the line from Trondheim to Bodø; or Narvik, final stop on the Arctic  Circle train from Stockholm.

A convenient offer for travels by both bus and speedboat (though not ferry) within the county of Nordland is the Travel Pass Nordland, that gives unlimited travel in the region for seven days, for only 990,- Nok for adults and 495,- Nok for children under 16 years old. The pass can be bought through the app Billett Nordland.
